Help, limits and a Break in Play
A limit set before the evening begins is the easiest one to keep. The island's help is listed below, starting with a line that answers at any hour of the day or night.

Set the limit first
Before you leave for either hall, decide how much money the evening may cost and when you will go home. Bring that amount and no more. Short breaks away from the floor help, as does a glance at the clock from time to time. When the amount is gone, the evening is finished, and there is no need to win it back.
Every casino game carries a house edge, a built-in advantage written into its rules. Over time, players as a group lose more than they win. A loss is the expected result, not a run of bad luck.
A line that answers at any hour
The PEI Gambling Support Line is 1-855-255-4255. The call is toll-free and confidential, and the line is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There is no time limit on a call. It serves people who gamble and anyone affected by someone else's gambling, including family members. The Gambling and Gaming Support Unit of the PEI Department of Health and Wellness runs the line.
Should you prefer help at the casino itself, each Red Shores hall has a PlayWise hub with information on healthy play. A PlayWise Advisor answers at 902-620-4267 or by email at playwiseredshores@alc.ca.
Break in Play at both halls
Break in Play is the Red Shores self-exclusion program. In plain words, you ask to be kept off the gaming floors for a set period. It covers both floors, in Charlottetown and in Summerside. A short break lasts 30, 60 or 90 days; a long break lasts 6, 12, 24 or 36 months.
Enrolment can happen on site at either hall, or off site, for example through Addiction Services. PlayWise Advisors answer questions at 902-620-4267. It takes about 20 minutes with two staff members, and only the person taking the break can enrol.
Once confirmed, a break cannot be cancelled. Anyone who enters during a break is escorted out and loses any credits, chips or vouchers, which are donated to United Way. The break may also be extended. To return, a person asks for Return to Play, which includes a review, a meeting on site and a 24-hour wait. Without that request, the break continues.
